The Confucius Institute cordially invites campus and community audience to the annual UD-Peking University Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series on Monday October 27, 2017.
Professor Xingwu Xu (徐兴无教授) will give a talk on the City and Gardens: Yangzhou’s Cultural Development During the Qing Dynasty (市井和园林:清代扬州的文化产业).
Dr. Xu Xingwu is a Professor and Dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Nanjing University in Nanjing, China. Dr. Xu’s main research interests include history of ancient Chinese literature and philosophy, and has published many books and journal articles. His latest work focuses on the history of Confucian classics. He was a visiting scholar at the Harvard-Yenching Institute between 2000-2001.
English interpretation will be provided for this talk.
