China Forum Features Buddhist-Catholic Dialogue on April 12, 2016

lotus-enlightThe Confucius Institute cordially invites you to a new “China Forum” lecture on Buddhist-Catholic dialogue on Tuesday, April 12th 2016 on UD campus.

Robert Magliola received his doctorate in 1970 from Princeton University in comparative literature. He is retired from the (interfaith) Graduate School of Philosophy and Religions, Assumption University of Thailand, where he was professor of philosophy and religious studies; and from National Taiwan University, where he was distinguished chair professor in the Graduate School of Liberal Arts. Prof. Magliola, who first became known as a specialist in hermeneutics and deconstruction (Purdue U. and National Taiwan U.), has for the last twenty-two years focused on Buddhist-Catholic Dialogue, publishing widely in Buddhist Studies and comparative religion (book chapters and articles). He is the author of the following important books: Phenomenology and Literature; Derrida on the Mend; On Deconstructing Life-Worlds: Buddhism, Christianity, Culture; Facing Up to Real Doctrinal Difference: How Some Thought-Motifs from Derrida Can Nourish the Catholic-Buddhist Encounter.

Prof. Magliola will talk about “Ways of Doing, Thinking and Non-thinking: Buddhist Wisdom for Western Dialogists” in the upcoming China Forum at UD.
