Last week of classes! Our BHAN 130: Cook It Healthy classes participated in a Chopped competition for their end-of-the-semester team challenge, inspired by the popular Food Network show.
Groups were required to use:
- Canned beans
- A frozen ingredient
- Whatever starchy food they drew at random (potato, pizza dough, multigrain bread, chow mein noodles, or corn tortillas)
- Whatever vegetable they drew at random (kale, green beans, broccoli, peas, carrots, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, or spinach)
The results were amazing! Groups were judged on both taste and creative use of ingredients. Here’s a selection of what students whipped up:
