Critical Minerals Supply Chains

This research and writing initiative is situated at the intersection of Energy-Critical Minerals, Environment, and Society. In collaboration with diverse stakeholders, Dr. Klinger’s current work is focused on characterizing the environmental, social, and climate impacts of rare earth and other critical mineral supply chains, from extraction to disposal (as in this paper on redesigning e-waste recycling). The aim is to support the national, hemispheric, and global efforts to create sustainable and functionally renewable critical materials supply chains in order to accelerate a just transition to a low-carbon future.
