About EmPOWER

EmPOWER Mission Statement:

EmPOWER’s goal is to support CEOE graduate students by providing Peer Mentors and resources to assist all CEOE students in surviving and thriving in graduate school, including de-stressing events, personal and professional development opportunities, and mentorship. The role of EmPOWER is to mentor new students and help them navigate academic and community support resources.

About CEOE EmPOWER:

EmPOWER was originally started at the graduate level in the College of Engineering. The Graduate Student Government is currently working to expand this program to each college. CEOE EmPOWER was established in the Summer of 2020.

CEOE EmPOWER is led by the Steering Committee, comprised of the Lead Mentor from each department/campus and the Master’s Representative, which is led by the Chair and Vice Chair, and advised by the Faculty Advisor and the Past Chair. Lead Mentors work with the Peer Mentors at the department/campus level to match mentors to mentees and put on stress-reliving activities and professional development events.

Interested in getting involved as a Peer Mentor?

Peer Mentor applications are solicited by the Lead Mentors each spring. Please contact the Lead Mentor for your department/campus to get started.
