Girls Scouts, Let Us Help You! Sussex County Master Gardeners are hosting a Plant Life Training Event for Girl Scouts from the Chesapeake Girl Scout Council interested in learning more about plant life, gardening, and careers in horticulture. Participants will receive training in the following areas for your Plant Life Interest Project Badge: 3 Skill Builders, 2 Technology, 1 Career and will receive information for developing future Service Projects in the plant life area. There is a $10 registration fee to cover the cost of materials for the training. (Make checks payable to “Sussex County Master Gardeners.”) Participants will receive a soil test kit and complete a flower arrangement as part of the training. We ask that one adult/leader per troop attend the training session with the scouts (There is no fee for the adults).

The event will be held in the Sussex County Demonstration and Teaching Garden, located immediately behind the UD Carvel Research & Education Center.

We will move inside to Meeting Room 3 if there is inclement weather (no rain date). Pre-registration is required. Register on the Master Gardener website or click here to go directly to the form.  Contact Tracy Wootten at the Sussex County Extension Office at 302.856.2585 ext. 538 for further information or questions. We hope you can join us!
