Did you know you can add more features to your courses?

Time to read: 3 minutes
Canvas is continually creating new features to improve your experience, and there are many features available now that you may not know about—and that you must opt-in to use.
Check out our new webpage to learn more about how to activate these features.

What’s New

  • August 2023: fall 2017 through summer 2018 Canvas course sites will be concluded
Fall 2017 through summer 2018 Canvas course sites will conclude the week of August 21, 2023, as part of the course data retention process. This process helps faculty and students clear old courses out of their All Courses list. Remember, you will not be able to access these sites after they are concluded to obtain course content, student submissions, or grading information. Review the steps to prepare for the conclusion of these course sites.
  • July 2023: New Quizzes feature option enabled for all fall courses.
New Quizzes will be enabled by default in all courses beginning with fall 2023 course site creation in late July. Opt-in will no longer be required, and this change will only cause a tool selection option to be displayed when creating a quiz. For more information about this transition, see Canvas New Quizzes Transition Update.
  • April 25: Summer course sites created
Review Canvas Course Information for a New Term for information about how to check for your courses, make change requests, and prepare to teach this summer.
  • Need help wrapping up for the semester? Check out these Canvas@UD resources to help tame the end-of-semester chaos: End of Term ChecklistEnd-of-Semester Grading Tips, and How to manage student course access.
  • New Zoom Features: An enhanced Zoom meeting chat experience awaits with several new features including automatic save and the ability for participants to send screenshots, interact with emojis, and delete messages live during meetings. Zoom’s new Q&A feature allows participants to ask questions during the meeting, and for the host and co-hosts to answer their questions either privately, for everyone, or mark them to be answered live. After the meeting has ended, you can generate a Q&A report for further analysis.
