NOW OFFERING DIGITAL MICROSCOPY AND PATHOLOGY!
The UD Comparative Pathology Laboratory recently received a generous grant from the Unidel Foundation to bring digital microscopy and pathology services to our clients. The laboratory now offers both brightfield and fluoresence-based whole slide scanning, allowing creation of permanent virtual slides. Digital slides can be accessed for viewing or analysis by users on a laboratory or personal computer anytime or anywhere internet connectivity is available through a secure central server. Laboratory clients have already used the system to share research specimens with collaborators as far away as Brazil! Moreover, the specimen archival database, downloadable viewing software, and analytic toolkits allow any internet-connected computer to be used as a high-powered microscope, essentially bringing the laboratory to your home, office, or even the local Starbucks.
