Summer Sales & Marketing Internship Program

Description: The Specialty Division of Helena Agri-Enterprises provides products and services to customers in
specialty markets across the United States. Markets we serve include but are not limited to the golf, lawn care,
sports turf, ornamental and industrial vegetation management industries. This position will assist our Helena
sales team with providing our customers with excellent products and service. The location and dates of the
internship will be determined once candidates are selected and will be based on their interests and availability.
Interns are paid a competitive hourly wage and provided a company vehicle for the summer.
Duties and Working Conditions: This position will expose the interns to nearly every aspect of the distribution
supply-chain including but not limited to:

 Interaction with customers, presenting products, taking orders and making deliveries
 Inventory management
 Developing and evaluating agronomic programs
 Other aspects of sales including credit, marketing, organization and time management
 Gain first-hand experience with popular chemistries and fertilizer products used in the industry
 Putting out test plots, collecting data, organizing, interpreting and presenting results

Helena’s interns are provided a balance of research, marketing, and sales exposure. At the end of the summer,
interns will review of their experiences in a presentation to management and other interns.
Qualifications: Applicants should be in one of the following areas of study or a closely related field, or have
significant experience in one or more of these disciplines:

 Turfgrass Management
 Production Horticulture
 Weed Science
 Forestry
 Agricultural Marketing, Business, or Economics
Candidates must expect to graduate a minimum 2.5 GPA and have a valid driver’s license. Excellent verbal
communication skills are desired. Experience in the fertilizer, chemical and seed industry will merit strong
consideration but is not required.
