2017 George W. Scott II Memorial State 4-H Camp Scholarship

George W. Scott II was an active 4-H member from the Sycamore 4-H Club in Laurel, Delaware in Sussex County. As a 4-H member he excelled in several projects, including livestock and woodworking. He loved attending State 4-H Camp in the summer, where he was a brave of the Seneca (Turtles) Tribe, as well as an archery instructor for the Big Feet Tribe.  He later spent his time serving as a leader for the Sycamore 4-H Club, helping with fair projects and club projects. He met his wife, Teresa, at 4-H camp, and together they had four children who were active 4-H members and attended State 4-H Camp as both campers and counselors.

In 1997, George’s life was taken away suddenly in a tragic car accident. However, both of his oldest children would argue that being at camp helped them to cope with this loss. 4-H friends are like none other, willing to be a shoulder and to help through the good times and the bad times.

The Scott Children: Katie, Krista, Kaleb and Kimberlyn would like to honor his memory with 1 full camp scholarship to a deserving 4-H member who has an interest in attending camp.
