Clover Quest

The Clover Quest 4-H meeting took place on February 17, 2017 at the Newark Free Library. The pledges were said, minutes from the January meeting were read, and roll was taken. 13 members and several visitors were present.

During business, the snack contest awards for the first half of the year were handed out, and some clubbers were congratulated for their success in the Favorite Foods contest. It was announced that our club leader, Ms. Blaky Wasgatt, earned the Volunteer of the Year Award for her service in 4-H. Matt Johnston, the vice president, encouraged members to consider service projects for the upcoming spring.

The club then divided into age groups to play some fun Valentine’s Day games. These included a Valentine’s Day words unscrambling, a candy heart relay race, and building with candy hearts. Miriam and Esther Kogut then served a delicious snack of Amish whoopie pies. This led into Veronica Kogut’s presentation on the Amish. She informed us of the history, beliefs, and characteristics of this group and then led us in a trivia game about the information.

Kyle Merritt, the club president, adjourned the meeting at 5:30.
