DE 4-H Hall of Fame Award Call for Applications

In 2002, the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents, National 4-H Council and 4-H National Headquarters partnered to create the National 4-H Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was established to recognize 4-H volunteers, Extension professionals, staff employees, donors and others who made a significant impact on 4-H at the local, state or national level.  This event is sponsored by the Delaware 4-H Foundation.

The next class of laureates will be inducted on October 6, 2018.

If you know of a special individual who has had a major impact on the 4-H Program in Delaware, you may nominate them for induction into the Delaware 4-H Hall of Fame in 2018.  Nominations at that time will be open through May 15.  The 2018 class will be selected in June 2018.  The Delaware 4-H Hall of Fame is sponsored by the Delaware 4-H Foundation. The full nomination form and FAQ document can be found at

In addition, applications will be accepted for individuals to serve on the selection committee.  If you are interested in serving there, please contact your 4-H educator closer to the event. Tickets for the event will go on sale in July 2018.

Ag Day

Ag Day is a community event hosted by the University of Delaware College of Agriculture and Natural Resources that brings agriculture and natural resources to life.  4-H has a long standing presence at Ag Day and we are planning to have a 4-H tent again this year.

If your club would like to participate in the 43rd Ag Day, on April 28th from 10:00am-4:00pm at the University of Delaware Ag Campus, please follow these instructions:

  1. Fill out the 4-H Ag Day Registration form and return it to the NCC 4-H office by Friday, March 23, 2018. Do not fill out the online Ag Day form! All 4-H registrations will be handled by the NCC 4-H office.
  2. Please indicate what your club is interested in doing at Ag Day. You may check off more than one area. Please include a detailed explanation of what your club is planning to do.  We would like to have a variety of activities and educational programs highlighted, so knowing this information ahead of time will allow for this.
  3. Please tell us your space needs for the day. Though we will have the entire tent, we would like to utilize the space well. A standard exhibit includes 1 table (8 ft. x 30 in. x 30 in) and 2 chairs.  Please try to limit the amount of extra tables and chairs your club requests as much as possible; we will do our best to honor all requests.
  4. There is no cost for 4-H clubs! Because 4-H is an educational group and 4-H clubs are such an important part of Ag Day, there is no cost for Delaware 4-H clubs presenting educational exhibits, demonstrations, or activities at Ag Day.

Remember, registrations are due to the county 4-H office no later than March 23, 2018.  If you have any questions please call or e-mail Betsy at 831.8965 or Information about set-up for the day of the event will be sent to the club contact on the registration form.

We hope to see you at Ag Day on April 28, 2018!
