Happy New Year 4-H Friends and Families!

We ended 2016 with great community service activities which included a joint effort between Jr. Council and C3 (Camp Counselor Club) assembling treat bags for the Newark Police. We’d also like to extend a huge thank you to the many clubs and individuals who generously contributed $730 in gift cards which were distributed to 4-H families affected by the tragic wildfires in Sevier County via the University of Tennessee.

We have a variety of 4-H activities planned to kick off 2017, beginning with the Favorite Foods Contest on January 21.  We hope many 4-Hers will participate. Not only can you enter Favorite Foods, but you can also participate in the Foods Judging Contest and submit your photos in the Photography Contest. Parents, leaders and friends can enter the Adult Dessert Competition, which will be judged by our Jr. Council members. While waiting for the results to be announced, there will be a grocery shopping challenge activity for your learning and entertainment.

Favorite Foods and Foods Judging Training is available this Thursday, January 5 at the county office (RSVP now) and entries for the Favorite Foods Contest are due January 11.

Winter Workshop enrollment is now open and there are interesting opportunities.  Please see the flyer for all of the important information and reserve your spot now!

Stay tuned for registration information for the January 28-29 Teen Weekend at the Courtyard Marriott on the University of Delaware Campus and February 4th Leader Forum in Kent County at Polytech High School.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
