Dear 4-H Families and Friends,
Summer is fast approaching and New Castle County 4-H is gearing up for camps, the Montana Exchange trip and the Delaware State Fair.
Please join us in welcoming our Summer Interns – Alex Swan and Mindy Cook – who at this moment are immersed in camp planning. Alex, a New Castle County 4-Her, is a sophomore at Miseracordia University. She is studying education and is a member of the swim team. She enjoys showing sheep and pigs. Mindy will be a junior at Iowa State University, majoring in agricultural business after recently graduating from Hutchinson Community College with an associate’s degree. She is on the Livestock Judging Team.
Wanted: New Castle County 4-H is looking for a volunteer to participate in the Pig Kissin’ Contest at the Delaware State Fair on July 27 at 3 pm. Contestants raise money for the Delaware State Fair Jr. Exhibitor Scholarship. Let us know if you would like to be our representative in this unforgettable experience!
4-H Project Record Books are a great opportunity for 4-H members to detail their activities and experiences during the past 4-H year. Take the time now to start completing your record book.
The forms can be found on the county and state 4-H webpages. County record books will be due September 29. Be sure to ask your leader, an older 4-H member or your county agents for help.
Then, save the date –Sunday, October 29th – Achievement Celebration! It promises to be a fun filled event recognizing our wonderful 4-Hers!
