Dear 4-H Families and Friends,

I am honored and humbled to serve as the next New Castle County 4-H Extension Educator.

For those that don’t know me, let me share my 4-H background.  I was a member of the Ever Ready 4-H Club and was raised on Cook Family Farms as a fourth generation New Castle County 4-Her; most definitely #4HGrown.  My husband, Richard is a Maryland 4-H Alumni and current manager of the University of Delaware Dairy Farm. My three children, Jenna, Tara and Jason were charter members of the Cow Pals Cloverbud club and then helped restart the Porter Gang 4-H Club. I have worked at the Extension office for approximately 20 years in various roles including 4-H Afterschool Site Coordinator, Cloverbud Coordinator and Camp Director, Bosnia Host Family Coordinator and most recently as a Nutrition Assistant.

New Castle County 4-H is revving up for exciting times. Kaitlin and I are ready to charge full steam ahead. We plan to add new members and clubs and reconnect with alumni and friends.

Currently it is time to participate in the Public Speaking Contest, attend the next Leaders/Jr. Council meeting, sign up for Holiday Fun Day and begin thinking about your Favorite Foods entry.

Don’t miss out on the Meet the 4-H Staff event on November 18 at Cook Family Farms from 6-8pm. There will be a Hayride, bonfire, s’mores, hotdogs, and more! I look forward to this opportunity to have some fun and get to know you better.  Be sure to call the office if you are interested!

I am available to visit club meetings to share information or offer training.  Please don’t hesitate to call, email or stop by the office with any questions or concerns.

Yours in 4-H,

Betsy Morris
