Welcome to Camp Month, 4-H’ers!
Are you as excited as we are???
We’ve got Environmental Camp this weekend, State Camp weeks 1 & 2 immediately after that and then Newark Day Camps immediately after that, and wrapping up with Cow Camp at the end of the month. Whew!
That’ll take us right into July- the office will be closed on Friday, July 4 for Independence Day- just as an FYI.
Set up Day for the DE State Fair is on July 8. We could always use more hands! Please consider signing up to help with that or something else during the Fair:
We’re also in need of Hosts/Hostesses for the Fair- greet and provide info to folks visiting the 4-H building. It’s only a 2 hour commitment and great opportunity to share all the great things about 4-H with someone who may not be familiar.
INFO ON FAIR EXHIBITS
We encourage members to take down and bring back their own exhibits. You know it got there safely and you leave with your Fair pass in hand that same day. Please also ask your club leader if they are taking exhibits down or know someone who is- it may be a good idea to coordinate a trip.
We can take exhibits down for you if you are unable. Space is limited, so we are unable to take large scale ones down. Also consider that we will need to have them at the NCC Office no later than 3 pm on Friday, July 11 for transportation down on Monday, July 14.
This is for all exhibits EXCEPT Gardening/vegetables and Cloverbud. Those exhibits will need to be received at the office no later than 3 pm on Wed, July 16.
We are unable to transport anything for the Cut Flower Category due to the nature of those exhibits.
If the Office takes your exhibit down for you, we will contact you when your Fair pass is at the office for pick up. We will bring your exhibit back up after the Fair. We will only bring back up the ones we brought down. We will do our absolute best to transport your exhibit safely, but cannot guarantee it. If your exhibit is something that is fragile or of importance, we highly recommend you transport it to and from the Fair yourself. We will contact you when these exhibits have been returned to the NCC Office.
Detailed info on Exhibits and the drop off schedule can be found in the Fair Newsletter below
Right after the Fair is the NCC Hershey Park trip. If you registered, details will follow for payment, etc.
And then, just like that, it’s August! We’re having a Military Camp for National Guard youth the first week, followed by a week to catch our collective breaths.
Record Book training will take place at the NCC Office on August 20 and our first Leaders Meeting of the new 4-H year will be on Monday, August 25.
Wow! This summer will fly by! We hope you all have a safe and wonderful time filled with fun with family, friends and your fellow 4-H’ers. We hope to see you at camp, the Fair or maybe just out and about this summer! Have a great one!
Yours in 4-H,
Ms. Kaitlin
