Dear 4-H Families and Friends,

This summer was filled with many 4-H activities and events: State 4-H Camp, Exchange Group trip, Environmental Camp, State Fair and Day Camps all provided fun, education and learning opportunities.

~We are now officially entering the 2018-19 4-H year. Please be sure you are enrolled as a member in 4-H Online beginning Sept. 1. All members need to register before participating in 4-H events.  4-H Online Registration can be found on the DE 4-H website homepage. https://extension.udel.edu/4h/

~Record books will be due Sept. 28. Completing a record book is the best way to document your 4-H accomplishments. An online fillable form is now available. Record book training is available on Sept. 11 at 6 pm at the Extension Office. To attend please register with Serena at serenac@udel.edu or 302-831-8965. Other times available by appointment.

~Many 4-Hers will be honored at the County Achievement Event on November 4 at 2 p.m. at the Extension office.  Please plan to attend what promises to be a great celebration!

~The Science Team has planned six science workshops focusing on careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). The first one featuring Food Science will be held at the New Castle County office on Sept. 29. These workshops are limited to active 4-H members only, so this is another great reason to make sure you re-enroll early!

~We have a great opportunity to attend a UD Football Game on Sept. 15 as a 4-H Group. A fun day is planned. $10 includes game ticket (for good seats!) and UDairy Ice Cream. Please submit your payment and RSVP to the NCC 4-H Office by Sept. 7.

~New Castle County is planning a booth at Newark Community Day on Sept. 16 and Blackbird Fall Fest on October 20. Volunteers are needed. Please let Betsy or Kaitlin know if you can help for an hour or more.

Please feel free to call, email, or visit the office if you have any ideas, suggestions, or concerns about New Castle County 4-H programming.

Looking forward to a great year in New Castle County 4-H!

Betsy, Kaitlin and Serena
