Dear 4-H Families and Friends,
New Castle 4-Hers did not waste any time getting involved as we kicked off the year with the Public Speaking contest. Speech topics covered everything from Legos and Chocolate to Decision Making. Congratulations to all the participants!
The Favorite Foods Contest followed with a great showing of creative place settings and delicious recipes. The room was full of excitement. Many volunteers served as judges and event assistants to make this event possible. Congratulations to our 4-Hers and many thanks to the sponsors and volunteers.

The first demonstration contest is March 15- but it is not too early to start thinking about a topic. A successful 4-H demonstration does not have to be complicated or difficult; instead, it can be a lot of fun! Demonstrations are a great opportunity to show your 4-H knowledge and skills to others. 4-Her’s can do an individual or work with another 4-Her for a team demonstration.
Many county judging contests will take place starting March 26 thru June 8. Practice kits are available for clubs or individuals to use. Contact the office to reserve one.
Delaware 4-H is constantly working to improve. A survey was sent out about the Delaware 4-H website. Please take a few minutes to provide feedback as we strive to make our state website more user friendly.
