External Advisory Council

The Biomedical Engineering External Advisory Council comprises alumni, business leaders, and academic leaders who provide a high level of volunteer service to the Program, College, and University. The Council’s primarily role is to help shape and evaluate the strategic direction of the BME program. In carrying out their role, members help inform and support the work of the Chair, faculty, and staff. They serve as a sounding board for the Chair and provide advice to ensure that the BME program maintains the highest standards of excellence. In addition, they more widely publicize the activities and accomplishments of the program to students, alumni, donors, employers, professionals and others. As part of its annual meeting in the fall, the BMEAC reviews the progress of the previous year and presents its findings, highlighting major successes and challenges facing the BME program to the Dean of the College of Engineering.
