Role of ADAM9 in Colorectal Cancer

Neha Sindhu

PhD Student in Bioinformatics Data Science

ADAM9, or Disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 9 is a member of the ADAM family of proteins, a family of transmembrane metalloproteinases that function as sheddases for diverse cell surface proteins. A previous student has identified some substrates and targets of ADAM9 in one colorectal cancer (CRC) cell line. This work looks at the mechanisms and pathways through which ADAM9 regulates CRC.

BIOGRAPHY
Neha Sindhu completed her BS-MS Dual degree with a mathematics major and biology minor from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram, India. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Delaware. She works in the lab of Dr. Shuo Wei at the University of Delaware’s Department of Biological Sciences.
