About the Photograph Conservation Block

During the winter term of 2018, Dr. Debbie Hess Norris instructed the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation in the course, Photograph Conservation Block (ARTC 655). Members of this class extended the work of the Curating Hidden Collections course by examining the photographs in “The Baltimore Collection” with an eye to their care and conservation. This team made condition diagrams for all of the photographs and compiled written documentation of many of the photograph. Furthermore, the conservation students cleaned and stabilized some of the photographs. The documentation and diagrams created as part of this course are included in the conservation section of this website
