Graduating Sophomores: Declare your major!

ATTENTION GRADUATING SOPHOMORES!

To prepare for your transition to main (Newark) campus, it is important for you to declare your major.

All expected graduates must declare a major by Wednesday, April 8, 2020.  (If you do not declare by that date, a registration hold will be placed on your account.)

Are you interested in a restricted major?

Check restricted major requirements and deadlines. If you do not meet the requirements, please meet with your advisor to discuss your options.

Please follow the instructions to declare your major:

  • Log into UDSIS
  • In forms, click “Change major, minor, concentration”
  • On the form:
  • Input your phone number using format nnn-nnn-nnnn
  • Next to Associate in Arts, Click “Keep” in pull-down menu
  • Select your new major
  • Select graduation term at least two years from now
  • Click “Add line”
  • Click “Next”
  • For reason, state that you are graduating from the Associate in Arts Program and selecting a major.
  • Click “Submit Form”

Transitioning Sophomores: Apply to be a Resident Assistant

The Resident Assistant position is one of the most challenging and rewarding leadership experiences on campus.Resident Assistants (RAs) are essential members of the Residence Life & Housing team. Residence Life & Housing staff members strive to partner with residents to create inclusive communities that enhance and support the students’ overall college experience.

To apply, you will need to upload an updated resume, provide an email addresses for one recommender, and answer several short essay questions.

Applications are due January 15, 2020.

Spring Into Success Conference 2020

Are you transitioning to main campus in Spring 2020?

Spring Into Success is a free 2 day conference with workshops, panels, and presentations geared towards helping students set goals and have a successful Spring semester. The conference will be held February 7th & 8th, 2020, and is open to all first-year students and upper division students living on campus. Our workshops and sessions can help you with personal, professional, academic, and leadership goals that you have for the coming semester. The Spring into Success conference is also a great chance to meet other students on campus, reconnect with peers from the fall semester, and connect with new opportunities at UD.

Attend Fall Major Fest and Major Mania!

Come explore the many majors and minors UD has to offer! Plan your academic and career pathway with complementary majors, minors, and out of classroom experiences. Faculty and staff representatives from every college will be available to talk with you about majors, application processes and requirements. Representatives from the Pre-law Advising Committee, the Center for Premedical and Health Profession Studies, Disability Support Services, and many other academic resource offices will also be at Major Mania to answer your questions. The Career Center will showcase all of the resources they have for students who are exploring majors including their career assessment options and Career Communities.

Fall Major Fest Schedule

On-Campus Housing Application

Students expecting to graduate this Fall/Winter, the Spring-Only 2020 housing application will likely open in early November and remain open through the first week of Spring classes.

Students expecting to graduate in the Spring/Summer 2020 and live on-campus in Newark next Fall 2020, the housing application will open in early October (likely October 1st).

For both sets of graduates, it is highly encouraged to get your housing application submitted as soon as possible for guaranteed housing!
