Apply to be a Peer Mentor for the 2023-2024 Academic Year!

Become an AAP Peer Mentor!!

Calling all AAP students who will be rising sophomores for the 2023-2024 academic year- apply for a Peer Mentor position on your AAP campus! The University of Delaware’s Peer Mentor program offers you the opportunity to give back to the student community while gaining valuable leadership and instructional experience, and it looks great on your résumé!

What is a Peer Mentor you might ask? Peer Mentors are sophomores who act as intermediaries between faculty and students; they work closely with First Year Seminar faculty serving as a resource for first-year students. They assist with ARSC116 course lectures and activities, share opinions and firsthand experiences related to class topics and discussions, and connect with incoming AAP freshmen who have questions or concerns about the transition from high school to college. Mentors are valuable assets to our program, helping to build our academic community by creating special projects and events for fellow students.

This is a paid position: Peer Mentors earn $800 over the course of the semester, and students who continue in the UD Peer Mentor program after transitioning to Newark receive an additional $100 for each year they serve. Mentors also receive one course credit for attending and passing their training class during the Spring 2023 semester.

For a full description of Peer Mentor roles and responsibilities, and to apply, see the AAP Peer Mentor Application.

Applications due Friday, December 8th 2022 to be considered.
