Good Afternoon ASHE members,

We are scheduled to take a tour of the DelDOT Under Bridge Inspection Vehicle (UBIV) on Tuesday November 15th. We will meet behind DuPont Hall at 8:30 AM and drive down to Lewes to take an inspection tour of the Lewes Drawbridge. We will be split up into two groups: One group will be taken on the UBIV to inspect the bridge while the other group will be shown the mechanical and electrical components of the bridge. The bridge engineer will rotate both groups so everyone will be able to see everything. After both groups have completed both sessions, they will open and close the bridge a few times so we can take a look at the movable bridge in action. Our tour will end at approximately 12:30 and we will return to campus immediately after if people need to make an afternoon class. We can stop for food on the way back if there is enough interest. We have a limit of 15 spots open for this trip so e-mail me back at mikelly@udel.edu as soon as possible to reserve your spot. There is no cost for the trip and transportation will be provided.
