Our Mission
Art in Science is geared toward highlighting the cutting edge research at the University of Delaware that spans all disciplines in order to educate and engage the local community and spark interest in STEM activities in underrepresented student populations. This year’s submissions we taken from 15 departments across the University of Delaware, including engineering, biological sciences, chemistry, and art preservation.
We anticipate that engaging and educating the local community, through art, about the research taking place at the University of Delaware and its potential impact on local, national, and international communities will instill a sense of pride and connection between the University of Delaware and local residents.
We also anticipate that the inclusion of students from local schools will spark interest in their potential pursuit of STEM education. After a successful second year of Art in Science, we look forward to broadening our outreach to the Greater Delaware community with some future events already in the works!
Details for the 2018 Art in Science Event and outreach programs will be posted when final details are settled.
If you are interested in helping us with our mission we have teamed up with the University of Delaware crowding funding platform. All of the donations raised goes directly to coordinating the exhibitions and creating modules for K-12 students to learn from.
