Samantha Cassel
Bio: Sam is originally from Chalfont PA, and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University. Prior research efforts included the design of pumps and circulatory shunts for patients with single ventricle physiology, as well as characterization of polymer-ceramic composites for surgical orthopedic applications.
Research Interests: Sam is working to establish a dynamic model of pulmonary fibrosis with increasing stiffness and collagen content to mimic disease progression and its effect on fibroblast phenotype.
Fun Facts: In her spare time, Sam enjoys gardening, pointing out inaccuracies in medical shows, and throwing down the occasional Eminem song at karaoke
