Matthew Rehmann
Bio: Matt grew up in Philadelphia and received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. His prior research includes engineering E. coli for enhanced solvent tolerance and improved yields during bioprocesses. He has been a graduate student in Chemical Engineering and the NIH Chemistry-Biology Interface Program at Delaware since 2010.
Research Interests: Matt is developing conditions for the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells to tendon/ligament fibroblasts in synthetic hydrogels. He is working towards the development of a cell delivery material for regeneration of the bone-ligament interface.
Fun Facts: Matt is a huge Philly sports fan and enjoys running and biking in his spare time. He co-hosts Science Rocks!, a science talk and rock music radio show on The Basement.
