The University of Delaware’s AI Center of Excellence (AICoE) and Data Science Institute (DSI) along with the ATOM team are excited to announce the first Accelerating Therapeutics for Opportunities in Medicine (ATOM) Hackathon! This will be an in-person 3-day event providing an opportunity to solve in drug discovery challenges and contribute to case studies in AI driven molecular modeling.

Hackathon Dates: Thursday, July 18th 2024 – Saturday, July 20th 2024

Location: Fintech Innovation Hub, 591 Collaboration Way, Newark DE, 19713

Participant registration is now open!

Interesting in joining the UD-ATOM Hackathon? Register here!

Registration closes June 17th 2024

Join ATOM for the 2024 Hackathon to solve drug discovery problems! Work with ATOM experts to learn how to approach computational and molecular discovery questions using the ATOM Modeling PipeLine (AMPL), an open-source, end-to-end, software pipeline that encapsulates data curation, model building, and molecular property predictions to advance in silico drug discovery.

What will you take away from this Hackathon?

  • Gain hands-on experience in using machine learning (ML) and AI tools for computational drug discovery
  • Contribute to enhancing open-source software tools for drug discovery
  • Gain proficiency in screening virtual compound libraries
  • Explore the possibility of integrating Generative AI tools to design novel molecules
  • Learn to run models and pipelines on UD DARWIN’s CPU/GPU resources

About ATOM

ATOM is a community effort developing an easy to use ecosystem for molecular discovery. It began as a collective effort involving national laboratories, industry and academia, that continues as an open source software development effort creating a readily accessible, usable and integrated Python software system for training and using predictive AI molecular models, generalized generative AI approaches, and portable representations of trained models. See the GitHub repository for more information at https://github.com/ATOMScience-org.

Hackathon Reception Event

UD-ATOM Hackathon participants, sponsors, and our local industry partners are invited to the Hackathon Reception taking place on the first evening of the 3-day event. Meet participants from UD, NIH/NCI, and Frederick National Lab of Cancer Research (FNLCR). STAR Campus and the Fintech building are home to many of our local partners, as well. It will be a great opportunity to network, build connections, and enjoy some food!
