AESOP-Lite’s second flight began on January 10, 2024, lasting around 46 hours. The instrument was carried by a 60-million cubic foot long duration balloon, which was launched out of McMurdo Station Antarctica. The instrument reached a maximum altitude of 157,551 feet, setting a NASA record for the highest altitude reached by an Antarctic balloon flight. AESOP-Lite performed exceptionally, and all data has been recovered. Analysis is ongoing, so check back here later for updates and results!
