Breathing Techniques From Our GEM Curriculum
5-5-10 Breathing
Get in an upright seated position with your back straight, feet flat on the floor and roll
your shoulders back, making sure you can breathe easily.
INHALE through the nose for a count of 5
HOLD for a count of 5
EXHALE through the mouth for a count of 10!
(10 seconds is a long-time! Remember to breath slow and calmly)
Repeat 3x!
This type of breathing helps us to clear our minds, by having our brains focus on the breathes and counts, rather than stress.

In this webinar, Dr. Jason Kilmer of the University of Washington, will review what prevention and treatment professionals need to know about cannabis in 2024, including ways in which use of cannabis can contribute to academic outcomes and mental health issues.
In addition to reviewing research on cognitive impacts, impaired sleep, mental health, and cannabis use disorder, we will review prevention and intervention opportunities.
