  • Susan Conaty-Buck has been selected by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) for the second cohort of its AANP Leadership Program.
  • Iva Obrusnikova has been awarded the G. Lawrence Rarick Research Award by the National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID) in recognition of her contribution to the adapted physical activity literature.
  • A team led by Michaela Taufer took first place in the Eighth IEEE International Scalable Computing Challenge (SCALE 2015) for their project, “Accurate Scoring of Drug Conformations at the Extreme Scale.”
  • Nancy Weiss has received the Dybwad Humanitarian Award from the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for her advocacy on behalf of children with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Kali Kneil has been awarded the 2015 International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) Elmer Marth Educator Award.
  • Roberta Golinkoff has been awarded the James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award, the highest honor conferred by the Association for Psychological Science, for “a lifetime of outstanding contributions to applied psychological research.”
  • Ann Ardis has been named interim vice provost for graduate and professional education, effective September 1, 2015.

  • Cathleen Geiger has been named the sea ice science editor for the Journal of Glaciology.

  • Linda Stacy has been named HR Liaison of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2015.
  • Nancy Targett has been selected to serve as UD’s interim president effective July 1.
  • Nancy Brickhouse will become provost at Saint Louis University in Missouri effective July 1.
  • Jennifer Biddle has co-authored an article detailing the important role methane seeps play in microbial biodiversity of the sea floor in the prestigious journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
  • Donna Laws has been named the Delaware Hotel and Lodging Association associate member of the year.
  • Sue Barton (with Jules Bruck) has received the Land Ethics Award in the residential category from Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve for her work on a sustainable demonstration project in the northern New Castle County community of Applecross.
  • Martha Corrozi Narvaez has begun her duties as president-elect of the American Water Resources Association.
  • Maria Aristigueta was installed this week as president of the American Society for Public Administration.
  • Bahira Trask has been named a fellow of the National Council on Family Relations.
  • Tania Roth has received an Early Career Impact Award from the Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences (FABBS) Foundation.
  • Stephanie Kerschbaum has received the 2015 Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) Advancement of Knowledge Award for her book Toward a New Rhetoric of Difference.
  • Martha Buell and Rena Hallam have been selected as 2015 Salzburg Fellows.
  • Lauren Petersen has received the American Publishers 2015 PROSE Award for Professional and Scholarly Excellence, recognizing the best scholarly book in the humanities.
  • Michelle Cirillo has been awarded an NSF Career Grant for her research on improving high school math instruction.

  • Beth Morling has been named the 2014 Professor of the Year for the state of Delaware by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

  • Pam Green and Cathy Wu have been are included as top scientists in the Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers list.
  • Cathy Ciolek has received the Lucy Blair Service Award from the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Stephanie Kerschbaum has been named a recipient of a 2014-15 American Association of University Women (AAUW) Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowship.
  • Wendy McFarlane has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year for the 2014 season.

  • Wendy Bellion has been awarded the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s 2014 Charles C. Eldredge Prize for Distinguished Scholarship in American Art for her book Citizen Spectator: Art, Illusion, and Visual Perception in Early National America.
  • Eve Buckley has received a Summer Stipend grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to support her research on drought, science and social progress in Brazil.
  • Barbara Habermann has been named the Nannie Longfellow Professor of Nursing Science.
  • Carla Guerrón Montero, associate professor of anthropology, received a Fulbright Award to study descendants of Brazil’s slaves who are opening their communities to tourism.
  • Nayantara Bhatnagar, assistant professor of mathematical sciences, has received a 2014 Sloan Research Fellowship.
  • Linda Gottfredson has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Society for Intelligence Research.
  • Bonnie Meszaros has been named a First State Saves Saving Star, awarded by Gov. Markell.
  • Adrienne Lucas, assistant professor of economics in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, has achieved the 27th position among the top 100 young economists globally active since 2009.
  • Jennifer Biddle has been named a 2013-14 Distinguished Lecturer with the U.S. Science Support Program.
  • Pam Cook has been named the Unidel Professor of Mathematical Sciences and been elected president of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
  • Kristine Coll, Senior Assistant Dean of Student Services, was awarded UD’s John Warren Excellence in Leadership and Service Award in 2013 for her work in restructuring College of Education and Human Development undergraduate and graduate student support services.
  • Annette Giesecke has been named the Archaeological Institute of America’s (AIA) Jashemski Lecturer for 2013-14.
  • Amanda Jansen was presented the 2014 Early Career Award by the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE).
  • Tara Jo Manal received the Lucy Blair Service Award from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Deborah Delaney and Megan Wenner received UDRF awards to support their research.
  • Megan Gaffney and Deborah Ryszka were elected to American Library Association division posts.
  • Marsha Dickson has been named the Irma Ayers Professor of Human Services.
