Analyze and Market Your Site

There are three main elements that go into promoting your site and making sure it is meeting the goals of your unit.

Site Statistics and Reporting

Google Analytics is a free tool that is recommended for giving you insight into your site traffic and content. Monitoring your site statistics will help you as the site admin make informed decisions about what content may be missing. You must use an outside (non-UD) Google Account.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Making sure your site’s content can be found by leading search engines is key to getting visitors to your site. It does not take a lot of technical expertise or trickery to get high SEO results. For instance, Google is designed to scan your site like a normal visitor. You can have good results with search engines by following a few simple guidelines from the article below and keeping in mind what your visitors want to see on your site.

At the University of Delaware we have a guide detailing best practice strategies as well as ways to connect in with the complete UD social media presence. When planned and implemented correctly, your social media presence will open up new opportunities to connect with your audience.
