Site Statistics and Reporting

Google Analytics is a free tool that is recommended for giving you insight into your site traffic and content. Monitoring your site statistics will help you as the site admin make informed decisions about what content may be missing. If you’re using WordPress through sites.udel.edu, you can link your Google Analytics account via Statistics + GTM in the WordPress dashboard.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Making sure your site’s content can be found by leading search engines is key to getting visitors to your site. It does not take a lot of technical expertise or trickery to get high SEO results. For instance, Google is designed to scan your site like a normal visitor. You can have good results with search engines by following a few simple guidelines from the article below and keeping in mind what your visitors want to see on your site.

Social Media

Social media can be a big part of having a Web presence. Some of the most popular social media sites are Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn. All accounts that represent the University of Delaware, whether in name, as a program, group, entity, etc. must be officially requested and approved by Office of Communications and Marketing. OCM will help determine if social media is the right fit for your group, and they will help you define your social media strategy.
