Paul F. Washington
Paul Washington is Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Time Warner Inc. He is responsible for corporate governance, as well as international, intellectual property, antitrust, regulatory, and pro bono legal matters.
After receiving his B.A. from Yale College, magna cum laude, Paul held a variety of positions in local, state, and federal government. He then served as a Vice President of The Dime Savings Bank of New York, while receiving his J.D. from Fordham Law School, magna cum laude.
After law school, Paul served as a law clerk for Judge David S. Tatel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and for retired Associate Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. and Associate Justice David H. Souter of the United States Supreme Court. Paul then worked as an associate at the law firm of Sidley & Austin.
Paul joined Time Warner in 1999, holding a number of roles until assuming his current position in 2006. Paul is currently an adjunct professor at Fordham Law School, where he teaches a class on Corporate Governance. Over the past 25 years, he has served on the boards of several cultural, civic, and professional non-profit organizations, including as Chairman of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals.
