Internship at the Penn Vet Swine Center

The swine group at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team at the Penn Vet Swine Teaching and Research Center located on the New Bolton Center campus in Kennett Square, PA. The internship position provides a unique opportunity for someone interested in food animal production and or medicine.  We have a research and teaching farm that places us on the cutting edge of swine husbandry and medicine.  Hands-on practical experience in our facility provides unique insight in to the swine farming of today and tomorrow.  Over 3% of the US swine industry is using the basic “Penn” gestation system developed at the New Bolton Center.

The intern will also have the possibility to contribute to our teaching and other research initiatives.  The internship is a year-long position and has a proposed start date of June 1, 2018.  The position is an ideal first step for someone seeking a career in either swine production or veterinary medicine.  In particular over the last seven years, seven of our former interns have matriculated at veterinary schools.
