2017 Tour of the Poultry Industry

7:30 am -5:00 pm Leaving from Townsend Hall

This is an opportunity to learn about the poultry industry and how broilers (chickens) are raised for meat. The tour will visit:

  • Perdue Farms hatchery (hatching over one million chicks per week)
  • Broiler farm (chance to visit the birds in a broiler house)
  • Broiler processing plant (learn about food safety)

You will also have the chance to meet with Perdue Human Resource personnel and recent UD alumni working at Perdue to learn about internships, full time positions and their scholarship program over lunch that is provided.
