Chateau Bu-De Winery on the historic Bohemia Manor Farm in Chesapeake City Maryland is looking for two harvest interns to help us with our 2016 harvest season. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced professionals that will bring a sense of humor and strong work ethic to our team.

To create the Premier East Coast Winery.

THE PROPRIETORS and TEAM
Brenda and Warren Dedrick have overseen the construction of a brand new winery, the planting of 8 acres (Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon) and the addition 10 acres to be planted this spring. Our production team is led by John Irving Levenberg, winemaking consultant, and working with our onsite Winemaker, Jacques Van Der Vyver whom oversees production and maintain the quality goals as identified by Brenda Dedrick.

THE POSITION
This opportunity will involve occasional work in our estate vineyard. However, it is primarily focused on wine production. The position is an excellent learning opportunity, where you will be involved in the entire winemaking process. QUALIFICATIONS
Our premium facility uses extensive sorting and delivery of fruit to the tanks. The primary duties of our interns will be to monitor the daily progress of all our wines and management of fermentations. Duties will include but not be limited to fermentation tracking, pump over, pressing, racking’s, and general winery sanitation. Basic laboratory analysis, monitoring and general wine QC. Other Information- Willing to work outside in all weather conditions Competent computer skills; experience with data entry preferred & Able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to work extended hours, including weekends. Current enrollment in a program relating to agriculture, winemaking/grape growing or a related field is preferred but not required. Previous wine production experience is a big plus. Must be a team player, with the ability to manage time and prioritize workload. Must be self-motivated. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English a plus. Ability to work in Chesapeake City, Maryland for the duration of harvest season (~10 weeks).
