The National Institute for Food and Agriculture seeks student interns to provide administrative support. As a student intern, Office Automation Clerk, you will perform a variety of office automation related functions, such as: establishing and maintaining an assortment of office records and files; preparing correspondence and other materials using numerous software packages; receiving incoming telephone calls and visitors and referring them appropriately; receiving, reviewing, and routing incoming correspondence to appropriate staff; and arranging meetings and conferences.

These positions are located in various units of NIFA, providing administrative support to key agency programs. These appointments provide students with an opportunity to gain valuable and relevant business experience, while supporting programs that affect the entire nation.

All Office Automation Clerk positions are accessible to public transportation.

Minimum Qualifications:

You must be a current student and have at least six months of general experience performing clerical, office, or other work that indicates your ability to perform the duties of this position. You may also substitute at least one year of education above high school to qualify for this position. This education must be from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

The hourly rate for this position starts at $13.00, and is commensurate with experience.
