Email quota phishing scam

Here’s another moldy oldie that is appearing in UD inboxes this morning:

Information Technology Services (UDE) are currently upgrading
e-mail accounts. This will provide you the ability to store a
greatly increased amount of e-mail correspondence in your
e-mail account.

Your account has been identified as one of the accounts which
are to be upgraded. Please click the link below and follow the
instruction

The new minimum quota level for e-mail accounts will be set to
1000MB.

The email is reported to come from “admin@udel.edu” and the link goes to “http://cas-nss-udel-edu.weebly.com/.” You recognize this as a phishing scam, right?

• That URL is a weak attempt at making you think that it’s a udel.edu link. CAS, NSS, UDel are all abbreviations for computing related things at UD. But the link does not refer to a system at udel.edu.
• Why does the last line contain Spanish and a reference to “UCSMail.”
• You do know that UD will never send you a link to click to confirm your account information, right?
