The phishing scams continue to flood UD inboxes this week. Here’s a sample from last night:

This one is insidious because of its simplicity, its warning that security incidents are on the rise, and its use of a stolen or spoofed udel.edu email address. It also contains other elements designed to hook members of the UD community

There are three variations of this particular attempt to trick you into clicking that non-UD link in the message. In addition to using the subject line security check, there’s a similar phish with the subject Suspicious swimming into UD inboxes. Yesterday, we posted an example of one with the subject Keep your account safe. All three use some variation of UDel Secure as part of the link their senders want you to click.

The good news is that at least 75 members of the UD community have reported these phishing scams to us in just the last 12 hours. We’re glad that people are catching on.
