Another day, another phishing scam landing in UD email inboxes. This one tries to get you to respond to an alleged emergency by clicking a malicious link.

This phishing scam tries to trick you into surrendering your UD credentials by

  • using a scary subject line (Emergency Verification!!)
  • claiming that all email accounts need to be updated “within 48 hours of receiving this e-mail”
  • including a convenient “Click Here” link.

If you look more carefully, you will see that the “Click Here” link does not take you to a udel.edu address and that some of the punctuation and wording is a little bit off.

If you see this message, just delete it.

If you receive any message that claims to be an emergency notification and contains a link, be suspicious. Verify that message with the company, organization, or institution that allegedly sent you the message.
