Comestible codices, palatable pages, tasty tomes

In celebration of International Edible Books Day (held on or around April 1), ART309: Book Arts held its own edible books show on March 26. Professor Martha Carothers shot photos of each entry, and judges (staff from Morris Library) awarded prizes for entries’ creativity, facility, inspiration, and reference to source texts.

Entries ranged from cakes and cookies to pottage to octopus-laden jello. The students showed a lot of creativity and energy for the project, and the judges were excited by the variety of entries and ideas.
