Changing Your Display Name in Sakai@UD

Some students have recently reported that their display name in Sakai (in the Profile tool and in lists in Roster or Messages, for instance) was different from what they expected or wanted. Sakai uses information located in UDSIS to associate a Sakai user account with a name. If you are a student and if your name in Sakai (or in other campus systems) is not what you want it to be, you can change it in UDSIS:

  1. Log in to your UDSIS account.
  2. Click Personal Information > Names.

  3. Verify and edit your current names or add a new one. Sakai will use the Preferred name, if present, and will fall back to the Primary name if no preferred name is set.

The name change in Sakai should take place shortly after you have updated your UDSIS information. If your new display name does not appear by the next morning, try clearing your Web browser’s cache. The updated name should then appear.
