WELCOME TO PHYSICAL THERAPY
Ranked #1 in the nation by US News and World Report, the University of Delaware’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program offers a 2.5-year DPT degree and post-graduate education, including six residency and fellowship programs, and two interdisciplinary PhD programs in Biomechanics and Movement Science and Neuroscience. Renowned faculty prepare students to be entry level practitioners capable of pursuing a specialty area or transitioning into graduate studies within the research environment. The Department prepares a diverse workforce of physical therapists capable of top-of-license practice.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program aims to educate outstanding entry-level physical therapists who provide excellent physical therapy services, integrate scientific inquiry into their clinical practice and have a well-developed sense of professionalism and social responsibility.

The Delaware Physical Therapy Clinic is the State’s premier outpatient clinic. Located at the University of Delaware, the clinic provides a unique environment where physical therapists, students, and researchers work together to implement cutting-edge treatment to patients from the University and the surrounding community. We are open to the public!
OUR RESEARCH
The faculty of the Department of Physical Therapy have active research programs, funded both current and past by national (e.g.-National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Education, Foundation for Physical Therapy) and local (e.g.-University of Delaware Research Foundation, UNIDEL) agencies.
