Office of Equity & Inclusion Internship Opportunities

How to Apply

Applicants should possess good to excellent academic standing, have an interest in civil rights, social justice and inclusion programming, and have relevant skills to each position, such as administrative, education development, policy administration, technical, and research and writing skills. A knowledge of civil rights, diversity and discrimination concepts is helpful, but not expected. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Position start dates are generally the third week of September, the third week of February, and the second week of June.

While there are application deadline dates set below, applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, we often fill all available internship slots prior to the stated deadlines.

Internship Deadlines

For the fall/spring semesters, we are open to interns/volunteers who can work a minimum of 10 to 15 hours each week, as specified above. For the summer semester, we are open to full time hours.
The deadline for fall applications is September 15.
The deadline for spring applications is January 15.
The deadline for summer applications is May 31.

Diversity Strategy Internship

Are you passionate about diversity and inclusion issues? Is social justice important to you? Do you have a desire to become a change agent?  If you answered yes to the aforementioned questions then this position is for you!

The Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) is looking to partner with student leaders who are destined to make a change in our world.  Our intern will gain invaluable professional development opportunities all the while making a positive impact on our University community.

OEI is seeking a dynamic student leader with a passion for diversity and inclusion.  This individual must have the ability to communicate ideas effectively and have program development skills.

Role and Responsibilities

  • D&I program and content development
  • D&I program implementation and coordination
  • Staying abreast of D&I campus and societal issues to inform OEI programming
  • Assist with OEI office initiatives as necessary

Diversity Caucus Liaison

Do you like working with diverse groups of people? Are you passionate about diversity and inclusion issues?  Is it easy for you to connect with different types of people?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, this is the internship you’ve been looking for!

Partner with the Office of Equity and Inclusion and the UD’s Diversity Caucuses on advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives and programming.  You will gain professional development and professional team building skills.

OEI is seeking a self-motivated student leader who enjoys working with diverse groups.  Must have strong multitasking skills and ability to communicate and regurgitate various caucus ideas and needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison to diversity caucuses (9) and OEI
  • Handles program logistics that includes but is not limited to marketing and advertising creation, program content necessities and room reservations
  • Website design and management of caucus websites
  • Assist with other Caucus initiatives as needed

Website and Technology Coordinator

OEI is looking to partner with a talented and innovative student who is interested in reaching our UD community one technology platform at a time!  We are seeking talent for tech, blogging and platform delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage OEI’s e-learning initiatives
  • Researches and stays abreast of best technological platforms for program delivery and implementation
  • Maintains OEI’s presence on various social media platforms
  • Assists with technology development of various diversity programming and workshops

Policy Administration Coordinator

Are you looking for ways to sharpen your policy and administration skills?  Do people often tell you have knack attention to the details?  Do you enjoy communicating and working with others?  If you answered yes, then we’d love to have you be a part of our team!

OEI would like to partner with strong leaders who can work independently in the areas of policy and administration.  We are looking for talented and hardworking students who would like to expand their skill sets by working closely the Associate Director, Title IX Investigator on the Minors on Campus Policy.

We are seeking professional individuals who will handle correspondences with various University program organizers as well as compile and analyze data from these respective programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to communications and requests from University program organizers
  • Responsible for Minors on Campus data compilation and analysis
  • Support the Associate Director, Title IX Investigator with various tasks related to the Minors on Campus Policy that includes but is not limited to education, presentations and research

Requirements and Skills

  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficient with Good Apps and Microsoft Office
  • Can work autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
