207 Amy DuPont Hall, Newark, DE 19716

All faculty members are invited to join Dr. Jackson Katz on Thursday, October 27th for a workshop focusing on the role of faculty in combating sexual violence. Dr. Katz will be speaking later in the evening in a public lecture entitled More Than a Few Good Men: The State of American Manhood, and is providing a more in-depth discussion with interested UD faculty members.

Jackson Katz is an educator, author, filmmaker and cultural theorist who is internationally renowned for his pioneering scholarship and activism on issues of gender and violence.  Katz is the creator of Tough Guise and Tough Guise 2, the award-winning and widely used educational documentaries. He is the author of The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and How All Men Can Help, and the forthcoming Man Enough? Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and the Politics of Presidential Masculinity.   He has a blog on masculinities and politics on The Huffington Post.  He has appeared on radio and TV programs across North America, Europe and Australia, including The Oprah Winfrey Show and Good Morning America. His TED talk, “Violence against Women is a Men’s Issue,” has been viewed more than 2 million times.

The workshop should prove to be an engaging, informative, and interactive experience with individuals leaving with tools to integrate this important topic into their work, regardless of discipline. Space is limited, and those interested can register online. This unique opportunity is sponsored by the Office of Equity & Inclusion, along with SAPE and M@N. We hope to see you there!
