Welcome to my web page!  I joined UD’s Department of Mathematical Sciences in 2020 after spending 21 years at Michigan Technological University, the last 14 years as department chair.    My research interests lie in numerical analysis, especially for inverse problems, and I like to teach a variety of courses: calculus, linear algebra, ordinary and partial differential equations, complex variables, numerical methods for PDEs, numerical optimization, numerical linear algebra, history of mathematics, … (alas that my chair duties don’t allow for much teaching anymore).

For more information about me, consult the research and teaching links above.  You can also see the books I’ve written or get more details about my career from my CV.
