Starting Fall 2016 Alexis will serve as Dr. Mackenzie’s (MBBL Director’s) Graduate Research Assistant under the Department of Behavioral Health and Nutrition at the University of Delaware. She will coordinate all aspects of Dr. Mackenzie’s research projects and collaborations.

Interests: The effect of mindful practices on stress responses, health coaching, chronic disease management and employee wellness

Virginia’s completed her undergraduate thesis with Dr. Mackenzie, Implementation  of a mindfulness-based camp for young children in a preschool day camp, I Can Be Mindful. This helped her build a foundation for a career in research and she has just enrolled in a Ph.D program in Human Development with a focus on early childhood mental health.
