Welcome

01ece9e0e1bcf6dbc29609a143a20200Hello! My name is Jennifer Ferris, and I am a second-year teacher at First State Military Academy in Clayton, DE.  At FSMA, I teach AP United States History, Honors and CP World History, and Choral Music.

I am a proud University of Delaware alumna, having graduated with an Honors B.A. with Distinction in History Education and Music, cum laude, from the University of Delaware in 2013.  I then earned an M.A. in History from UD in 2015.

As a historian, I specialized in twentieth century American history.  I would call myself a social-cultural historian, and am primarily interested in the intersections of gender, race, and class through the lenses of urban history, social history, and the history of consumerism/consumer culture.  I also continue to conduct research in innovative education methods in social studies instruction, particularly in arts integration and material culture studies.

Thank you for visiting my ePortfolio, and please feel free to contact me at jlferris@udel.edu or at jferris@fsmilitary.org
