Requirements
As an alternative to a highly structured concentration, students have the option of building a course of study in consultation with their advisor for specialization by choosing 9 or 12 credits of elective course work in line with their professional interest under the option of “self-directed specialization.” This allows MBA students more flexibility in designing a course of study using a variety of MBA program electives or courses offered by other graduate degree programs here at the University of Delaware.
Program Specialization
Accounting
Business Economics
Restaurant & Institutional Management
Management
Public Administration
Sport Management
Additional Requirements
If you wish to create a specialization outside the areas listed above, you must get it approved. Please contact Amy Estey Becker, MBA Program Manager, Graduate and Executive Programs Office, 103 Lerner Hall, for approval.
In addition to your specialization requirements, you also need to take three or six credits of other MBA electives (three of which must have an international focus) not offered by nor geared towards your selected specialization. These electives should be selected to enhance your understanding of other topics related to your career objectives.
