Morocco: New Sister

Submitted by Kaylee Wolfe on the 2017 winter session program in Morocco sponsored by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures…

The month has gone by faster than anticipated. It’s now time to head back home, but the feeling is bitter sweet.

I will miss my host sister, Aya, who is pictured above on the left. She taught my roommate and I how to belly dance and I will remember the countless times we laughed over the silliest things. The experience of being able to live with a host family made Morocco become my home away from home. I can’t believe that my time here has come to an end.

I remember that when I first arrived to Morocco I was extremely nervous since this was my first trip abroad and I was traveling without my family. Now, I wish I could be here longer and I look forward to traveling abroad in the future.
